(2) DSL – Digital Subscriber Line Uses the other 2 wires from the phone lines Costs about $39 per month total cost Very fast (10 times dial-up) Only available w/in some distance to exchange Can use your phone and connect to internet!!! (3) Cable Modem Very, Very fast (20 times dial-up) costs vary $50 to $75 per month (may come down) Speed is a function of how may households Can use your phone and connect to internet!

Course Objectives: The participant who successfully completes the course will: Understand what the Internet is and what information is available. Be able to navigate and find world wide web information. Be able to use Internet tools that assist in searching for information. Be able to transfer information from the Internet to their personal computer. Be able to access and download educational materials, such as lesson plans and software, through the Internet. Be able to send and receive electronic mail around the world to teachers and others. Be able to connect to remote computers around the world through the Internet. Be able to use the Internet effectively. Enrollment Limits: The course will be limited to students, due to current available laboratory space.
