Presentation transcript:

Welcome! February 12th, 2018 Monday Do Now Take a weekly Bell Ringer sheet from the front table. Once the bell rings, we’ll watch a video, and you will have five minutes to respond to the question in at least five sentences. Remember: Do Now's are INDEPENDENT and QUIET exercises. Thank you 

What makes you smile or laugh more than anything else? Click on the link below to watch a video clip. Respond in writing by providing your thoughts on the following question: What makes you smile or laugh more than anything else? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP4abiHdQpc © Presto Plans

“Lamb to the Slaughter” Grab a Chromebook, sign in, go to my website, and open the document underneath today’s date: “LambToTheSlaughter-Text”. We’re going to read “Lamb to the Slaughter,” a short story by Rohald Dahl (the author of Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). All you need to know is that it’s about a husband and wife, and it’s set in the 50s, where housewives were expected to behave in a certain way. Honestly…the less you know going in, the better.  Let’s read!

“Lamb to the Slaughter” For the rest of class, respond to the reading questions on your half-sheet handout. Once you’re finished, look back through your work. Circle your best three answers – the questions you took your time with, responded in length, and provided textual evidence for. I’ll give you more points if I’m impressed with your answers  Once you’re finished, feel free to work on your IXL for this week: F.2
