What will we be doing in this unit of work? Objectives: Develop knowledge of the Musical Parody genre Develop song writing skills Be assessed on a Parody performance Outcomes: Listen to and watch examples of parody and discuss how/why music is used in comedy Create a parody of a popular song Create an understanding of Popular song structure/form Develop lyric writing skills Develop team-working skills Develop performance and presentation skills
Starter Task: Brainstorm all the words associated with your theme. Listen to the following parody song: Themes Parody Task: Brainstorm all the words associated with your theme.
Today: Lesson Objective: To create an effective Parody that has an effective and relevant theme. Success Criteria: Band 4: You will work effectively within a group and compose by developing ideas within musical structure. Concentrating on the first verse and chorus. Band 5: You will create an effective Parody style piece using relevant material and themes. Band 6: You will create a very effective Parody style piece that is fluent and stylish. This will only be possible by choosing an effective and relevant theme and using it throughout.
