Protecting Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V typically requires multiple solutions. Companies leaving some systems unprotected is a normal occurrence Not all solutions provide n-tier application aware replication, so replication can often be a burden that take longer than expected. Even if using AWS, customers still are required to maintain that subscription. This usually also means having to manage a subscription for the cloud provider and DR service. This cane create some pain during initial setup, performing recoveries, receiving support and paying the bills.
