Parent Forum: Schedule for 2016-17 Maximizing our Potential Model Laboratory School

Forum Objectives Inform our stakeholders of the following: Why there is a need for a different schedule. Educational and curriculum needs considered. Look at schedule options. Field Parent Questions

Why a different Schedule? The Big 3 Shared Staff MS – 6 core Teachers HS – 9 teachers 8 teachers are shared between both MS & HS Current MS/HS schedules are not compatible to maximize the use of shared teachers Maximizing time block versus year long period classes Time with instructor Block = 120 hours 50 min – year long = 144 hours Curriculum Needs of Students Beginning course details and/or books/materials needed for a class/project.
