The First Moroccan Crisis of 1906 List of Crises that led to World War one: Why What Result The German Naval Law of 1900 The Kaiser wants an empire for Germany The British Navy is the strongest in the World A plan to grow the size of the German Navy to challenge Britain. New huge Dreadnoughts are built. Britain’s naval supremacy is threatened by Germany. An arms race begins. The Anglo-Japanese naval alliance is signed. The First Moroccan Crisis of 1906 The Kaiser visits Morocco and guarantees it’s independence. Germany is forced to back down at Algeciras meeting. France feels threatened and insulted by Germany. Germany is humiliated by having to back down. The Kaiser is looking for influence in Africa. The Turkish empire is losing influence and power. France wants Morocco as an African colony.
