Definition Visible light is electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye, and is responsible for the sense of sight. The speed of light in a vacuum is defined to be exactly 299,792,458 m/s (approximately 186,282 miles per second). Or we could say 3x108 m/s.

Properties of light Intensity Intensity is the number of photons (packets of energy) falling on a certain area, within some time interval.

Properties of light Intensity

Properties of light Wavelength Spectrum Less or more wavelength shows the different. Every colours that we could with our eyes are have different wavelength.

Properties of light

Frequency of visible light = 40.000 – 80.000 GHz Properties of light Frequency of visible light = 40.000 – 80.000 GHz

Properties of light Polarisation Is a property of waves that can oscillate with more than one orientation

Properties of light Primary properties of visible light are intensity, wavelength spectrum, and polarisation. The speed of light in a vacuum is defined to be exactly 299,792,458 m/s (186,282 miles/second). The fixed value of the speed of light in SI units results from the fact that the metre is now defined in terms of the speed of light. All forms of electromagnetic radiation move at exactly this same speed in vacuum.

Discoverer In the 13th century, Roger Bacon theorized that rainbow were produced by a similar process to the passage of light through glass or crystal.

Discoverer In the 17th century, Isaac Newton discovered that prisms could disassemble and reassemble white light, and described the phenomenon in his book Optics.

Christiaan Huygens He was a famous Dutch mathematician and natural philosopher. He is known particularly as an astronomer, and physicist. Huygens was a leading natural philosopher of his time. He published major studies of mechanics and optics.

Thomas Young He was an English polymath. Young made notable scientific contributions to the fields of vision, light, solid mechanics, energy, physiology, language, musical harmony, and Egyptology

Visible Light Visible light is actually made up of different colors. Each color bends by a different amount when refracted by glass. That's why visible light is split, or dispersed, into different colors when it passes through a lens or prism. Shorter wavelengths, like purple and blue light, bend the most. Longer wavelengths, like red and orange light, bend the least.

How it happen??? Visible light could we see or happen when there was three main requirement, that is the light source (the sun light), the reflector of light (rain drops), and the light reseptor (eyes). Our eyes could see the visible light because in our retine, there was a cone cell that send the visible light color to the brain.

How We can See it? DISPERSION Dispersion of light can be defined as the separation of polychromatic light separeted into monochromatic light (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet) colours are obtained when a white light (polichromatic) is dispersed. Dispersion of light happens when light passes through a dispersive medium such as a prism. Like a rainbow, it is formed when light is dispersed through raindrops. Shorter wavelengths, like purple and blue light, bend the most. Longer wavelengths, like red and orange light, bend the least.

Application of Visible Light Application in Medical, called Transillumination Application in Daily Life Solar Panel Photo Copy Machine Application in Cinematography

In Daily Life We use visible light in our daily life all the time. We use visible light to see the colors. Visible light helps keep you same and one of them are traffic lights, as we known red is to stop, yellow is to slow down, and green is to go.

Solar Panel Solar panel is a tool that composed from solar cell that can be change light into electrical energy. They called the sun solar because the sun is the most powerful energy that can be used. Solar Panel is also called photovoltaic, photovoltaic can be meant “electric light”.

Charles Fritts He is an American He discover solar panel at 1883 Fritts coated the semiconductor material  selenium with an extremely thin layer of gold. The resulting cells had a conversion electrical efficiency of only about 1% owing to the properties of selenium.

Alexandre Edmond Becquerel (24 March 1820 – 11 May 1891), known as Edmond Becquerel, was a french physicist who is credited with the discovery of the photovoltaic effect , the operating principle of the solar cell in 1839.

Solar Panel

Application of Visible Light in Medic Visible light in medic ca be done by a simple way called transillumination, is with irradient the specific part of body. The patien placed in the dark room and the part of body that irradiated will be looked reddish.

Photo Copy Photo copy machine is a office tool that made a copy to paper from documen, book or other source. Now photo copy machine is uses xerography, a dry process that work with electrical energy or heat energy.

Application of Visible Light at Cinematography Light is the one important element in cinematography. That isn’t wrong if there a idiom ”Film are Light !”, because to exposed a picture we need light and to see a thing in the daily life we need reflection of light

Conclusion Visible light electromagnetic is the electromagnetic wave that could visible by the sense of human sight. Its so much colors that we could see, it formed by the different of electromagnetic wave light. So, there are so much visible electromagnetic wave happen in our life.
