Water Connects Places Year 7 Water in the World

How does the flow of water connect people and places? We rely on water to survive Access to water influences where we choose to live How much water we have access to can influence our lives Water sources are often shared by different communities therefore the water acts as a connection between them.

Your Task Your teacher will draw a river system on the board. Can you think of anyways people living along this river might be connected by it?

Your Task Now you have thought about how a river system can connect people and places copy your own diagram out then answer these questions: Why does water play such an important part in where people decide to live? How does the amount of water determine how people in different places live? Describe 3 factors relating to water that influence where people choose to settle.
