ZEUS By: Ross Canter

Zeus ZEUS is the king of the gods, the god of sky and weather, law, order and fate.

Zeus’s family Zeus' sisters were Hestia, Demeter, and Hera. His brothers were Hades and Poseidon. Zeus was the youngest out of all his siblings. His fathers name was Cronus and his mothers name was Rhea.

Infancy Zeus as a child had to be hidden in a cave in Mount Ida. He was hidden for one reason, so his father would not eat him. He was raised by a goat named Amalthea, while a company of Kouretes— soldiers, or smaller gods— danced, shouted and clashed their spears against their shields so that Cronus would not hear the baby's cry.

His wife He is married to Hera which is his wife and sister. Hera is the goddess of marriage and childbirth and protects married women. Hera

The war between the Olympians and the Titans The short version of this story is when Zeus and his siblings was born his father tried to eat them. So his mother put him in a cave in a mountain so his father would not get him. And he got his hands on a potion that would make his father throw up. Then Zeus put some in his drink and he through Zeus’s siblings and they were so grateful they fought by Zeus's side to defeat there father.

His enemies One of his enemies were Hades- was the King of the Underworld, the god of death and the dead. Another was Typhon- Most often described as the most horrifying and powerful monster in legend, no beast or demon was as feared by the gods as was Typhon in Greek mythology. Uranus was the primeval god of the sky.

About his thunder bolt The thunderbolt is his symbol which he got from Cyclops to fight against the titans and his father. Zeus had control over all the skies. He was called the father of gods and mortals.
