The federal student aid program Is authorized under the higher education act. The Federal Student Aid program includes grants loans and work-study programs Plays an essential role in supporting post second education by providing money for college Federal aid partners with postsecondary schools, financial institutions and others to deliver services to help students and families who are paying for college

The federal student aid program Provides information on the process of obtaining aid  Provides information on financial aid applications  Provides rules and regulations 

Eligibility is determined on many factors Financial need  Degree or certificate eligible programs citizenship

Veterans educational benefits Can still be used in conjunction with federal student aid

Veterans upward bound program Is available to help veterans refresh their academic skills so they can successfully complete their college program  Short term remedial or refresher course for vets who are high school graduates but delayed pursuing post-secondary education.  Offer five academic scholarships

Forever gi bill President trump signed into law Effect beginning next year  Will allow veterans to pursue educational opportunities for life  Will not expire if separation date is on or after January 1, 2013  To offset cost service members will living cost what is received by an active duty servicemember at E-5 with dependents  BAH will calculate payment on where student attends the majority of their classes

Post 9/11 3 consecutive years 100% tuition for 4 years degree Must use within 15 years after discarge Can be transferred to spouse or dependent, member must have at least 6 years of service to transfer.  Member must reenlist for 4 years  Benefits can be split between multiple family members
