4 Background Federal Student Aid (FSA) is the largest provider of student financial aid in the nation. Employs about 1,200 workers who help more than 13 million students pay for college.

5 What is student federal aid?
Money from the US Department of Education that helps you pay for college, career school, or graduate school expenses.

7 More than $150 billion in federal student aid is available through grants, work study and loans EVERY YEAR!!

8 Eligibility Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen;
Sign the certification statement on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) stating that: Have a valid Social Security number; You are not in default on a federal student loan and do not owe money on a federal student grant and Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an eligible degree or certificate program; You will use federal student aid only for educational purposes; Be enrolled at least half-time (for most programs);

9 Postsecondary Institutions
Postsecondary schools could be trade schools, traditional colleges or graduate schools. FSA plays an essential role in financially supporting not only the students, but their families to pay for college.
