Candy Introduced in page 20 He warns George and Lennie about the boss. “Where the hell’s them two new men?” P. 22 “A tall, stoop-shouldered old man,” “Old Swamper” P. 20 Lonely Character- has a old dog for company. P. 42 Hearty and friendly character. P. 20 Cautious as he doesn’t want to start a fight “You won’t tell Curley nothing I said?” P.32 Candy “He pointed with his right arm, and out of the sleeve came a round stick-like wrist, but no hand.” P. 20

Slim is reference on page 25 and is introduced on page 35 Slim is described as a “Big tall skinner” by the boss on page 25/ also he is described as by the book on page 37 as “ a tall man with long black damp hair, like the others he wore blue jeans and a dean jacket” Slim is reference on page 25 and is introduced on page 35 Slim has a dog that just had puppy's and is having trouble feeding them “ nine of em. I drowned four of em right off. She couldn’t feed that many”. Slim Slim is described as a man with authority in page 37” His authority was so great that he’s word was taken on any subject. Slim is a very nice guy and wants George and Lennie on his team. Slim has a bit of a slime personality as well as a being a bit of a flirty man, as shown on page 35”hi good looking”

Her finger-nails were red. Her hair hung in little rolled clusters, like sausages. She wore a cotton house dress and red mules, on the insteps of which were little bouquets of red ostrich feathers. Curley is introduced in page 27 Curley is the son of the boss when the old man says on page 28 “That’s the boss son” he said quietly/ he is also said as the son on page 27 when he says “seen my old man” Curley is introduced in page 27 Candy says that Curley picks on big guys and that he always starts fights with the big man “ he hates big guys. He's alla time picking scraps with big guys.” Curley Curley is described as “a thin young man with a brown face, brown eyes and a head of tightly curled hair. He wore a glove on his left hand, and, like the boss, he wore high-heeled boots. Curley “is calculating in his eyes, and coldly threatening” meaning he is always thinking and planning as said on page 29. Curley is a boxing champion as said on page 29”he has had a lot of time in the ring”

Crooks Known as “Stable Buck” Mentioned in page 22 P. 34 “They let the nigger come in that night.” P. 22 Crooks is named for his crooked back as he is the stable buck who works with the ranch horses. He lives by himself because he is the only nigger on the ranch. Crooks is bookish and likes to keep his room neat, but he has been so beaten down by loneliness and prejudicial treatment of that he is now suspicious of any kindness he receives. Overall, he is a nice fella. “The guys wouldn’t let him use his feet, so the nigger got him. If he coulda used his feet, Smitty says he woulda killed the nigger.” P. 22 Crooks
