Persuasive Speech: The Best Performer in The World Nakayla Morgan 7th hour speech 01/26/16

Introduction Who is the best performer in the world? Everyone has different opinions on performers, like what it means to be a performer. Talent? Dedication? Practice? Well, there is one person who has all of these traits. Who is it you ask? Well just Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, AKA queen Beyonce.

Background Information Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter was born and raised in Houston, Texas on September 4th, 1981. She started singing at an early age, competing in local talent shows and winning many of these events by impressing audiences with her singing and dancing abilities. Teaming up with her cousin, Kelly Rowland, and two classmates, Beyoncé formed an all-female singing group. Her father, Matthew Knowles, served as the band's manager. The group went through some name and line-up changes before landing a record deal in 1997 with Columbia Records. She later established a solo career with her debut album Dangerously in Love, becoming one of music's top-selling artists with sold-out tours and many awards. She has also starred in several films, including Dream Girls. In December of 2013, she released her fifth studio album, self-titled Beyoncé, and has performed at the Super Bowl twice. In April 2016, she released her sixth studio album Lemonade after the airing of an HBO special.

opinion statement Beyoncé is the best performer all around due to the simple fact that she has worked hard for everything she has achieved. Also she knows that she is all that and a bag of chips. With the amount of hard work that she has put in since she was young, who can top that? Whether its dancing or singing, Beyoncé slays it all honestly, truly. I believe Beyoncé is the most iconic performer of all time. You will find out more later on.

First Reason She has the most loyal and strongest fan base ever who call themselves the Beyhive. The beyhive will get on your head if they hear any Bey slander. Look what happened to Raven Symone, tragic right? She also does so much for her fans. She believes that all of her success is due to the support of her fans. When she performs for her fans, she gives them a night they will never forget ask anyone who’s been to her concert. She makes sure that everyone gets their money worth and life at a Bey concert.

SEcond Reason She isn't afraid to show her support and speak her mind about certain political and social issues at her concerts or on social media platforms. She uses her celebrity status to bring awareness to social groups that are underrepresented in the media -- she's a self-proclaimed modern-day feminist. She is one of the few artists who use their platform to speak out on social issues. When could your favorite ever? Beyonce has publicly shown her support to many communities. She has publicly supported the lgbtq community and the #blacklivesmatter movement. She embraces that everyone is different and differences are good.

Last Reason Anytime she performs she doesn't just sing. She gives her audiences and fans a performance of a lifetime. Literally every performance she does is with her heart. She is the epitome of “ everything I do is with a passion”. For example her concerts are no ordinary concerts. She makes sure to have effects and other specialties. Another example is when she went to a hospital in Singapore and sung live better than some artists sound recorded.

Refutation and counter argument The person that is almost always being compared to Beyonce is Rihanna. Both are great performers but Beyoncé just has more talent. Don’t get me wrong Rihanna is talented as well. The thing that people always seem to do is praise one while bashing the other. You can support Beyonce while being respectful towards Rihanna too. (:

Conclusion Finally we have reached the conclusion. The reasons I chose Beyonce as best performer in the world goes as follows; her fan base and hard work, her will to talk about social issues, and her love for performing. My favorite performance by Beyonce so far is when she performed at the MTV VMAs 2016.
