Everyone knows The Weeknd as the guy with the crazy hair. That’s all they know. They don’t know what kind of music he makes. They don’t how passionate he is about making music. He has a wide variety of music styles. One minute it’ll be all rap then the next it’s all nice and slow music.

3. Background Information
Abel Makkonen Tesfaye also known as The Weeknd was born on February 16, He’s a Canadian Singer, Songwriter, and Record Producer. He’s fluent in English and his native language Amharic. His parents were Ethiopian immigrants. Abel’s mother would work several jobs to support the family. His father later abandoned them. Abel has 3 mixtapes and 4 albums. He made $92 Million from his most recent album (Starboy). Also for every stop he made on his STArboy Tour he made $1.1 million.

4. Opinion Statement
In my opinion I think Die For You is the best song ever. Every word in the song holds so much emotion and passion. Abel’s voice is raw and real. He doesn’t use autotune like a lot of the singers out there.

5. Theme of the song
The theme for die for you would most likely be temptation, Love and Sacrifice, and Sadness.

This connects to the Theme Sadness because in this stanza The Weeknd doesn’t want to believe he loves the girl because of previous failed relationships. He has a lack of trust in females. He decides to finally tell the girl how heels after holding it in for so long.

This connects to the theme Temptation because In this stanza the girl cries because she knows that she’s in love with The Weeknd even Though she doesn't want to be. The Weeknd tries to stay away from her by trying to find reasons as to why they can’t be together but he can’t because she’s perfect and he knows that she’s worth it.

This connects to the theme Love and Sacrifice because in this stanza The Weeknd says he’s right for the girl then he goes on to say he thinks he’s right for her leaving a little gap. The little gap indicates that someone else has to come between them in order for them to go their separate ways. Even though they both love each they need to leave each other alone because it's not working out between them.

This connects to the theme Love and Sacrifice because in this stanza The Weeknd is saying that the distance and the time between Them won’t change his mind because he still loves her and he wants their relationship to work even if it isn’t working out. He knows the relationship would work if they didn’t have a busy schedule but he can’t quit just for a girl. Even though he still loves her, he has to let her go because he doesn’t want to be the cause of her sadness.

In conclusion, Die For You is the best song ever because not only does it appeal to your emotions but it also gives you an insight into what some relationships are like. You can love someone and not be with them. You can love someone and wish the best for them just as the weeknd did.
