PLOT- Sequence of events in a story Beginning- Exposition Middle- Rising Action and Climax End- Falling Action and Resolution Plot Structure

Beginning -Exposition Exposition introduction Introduces characters and setting Sets mood, tone, and atmosphere

Middle – Rising Action, includes Conflict Introduces main conflict Builds suspense and raises questions When the plot develops Longest part of the book Conflict EXTERNAL Character struggles against another character or an outside force. (man vs. man, man vs. society, and man vs. nature) INTERNAL The struggle is within the character (man vs. self)
