Part II. Supporting Evidence Facts and data that support your opinion about the slogan – Ex: War is not peace! Element 1 – Death toll Provide details and explanation Repeat Slogan Element 2 – Political tension between nations Element 3 – Ethnic stereotypes

Part II. Supporting Evidence Element 1 – Death toll – Give facts Provide details about the facts and why it supports your opinion Repeat Slogan! Death toll from Operation Iraqi Freedom is 2,837 U.S. troops and 5,018 Iraqi citizens So many deaths on either side will eliminate the possibility of a life of “peace” for the ones who died and for their families who will never see them again War is not peace!

Part II. Supporting Evidence There are high political tensions between the U.S. and much of the Middle East With governments working against each other in the 12- year war (2001-2013) it will be difficult to rebuild peaceful relationships if the war ends War is not peace! Ethnic stereotypes about American and Arabic people create misconceptions and mistrust numerous countries Negative stereotypes created by the media change the way citizens see each other and have increased racially- and ethnically-targeted violence by 118% in the U.S. and Middle East. The war’s violence is creating more violence. War is not Peace!
