Family Development Agenda in the Arab Region 2030 On an International Level The Absence of a specific Goal addressing family in the SDGs Agenda 2030 , endorsed September 2015, considered as a challenge as, in the Arab region we believe in the importance of Family as an essential component of Development Process . : Vision

The “ Family Development Agenda in the Arab Region 2030” was endorsed by Ministers of Social Affairs in Arab Region during the “High Level Arab Conference” on “Requirements and Protection of the Arab Family in Light of Contemporary Changes” organized by League of Arab States, and Ministry of Social Affairs in Egypt . (Februray 2016, Sharm el-Sheikh).

The Arab regional group become the first regional group that successfully put a regional development Family agenda , in parallel with the International Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, cross cutting the 17 goals of SDGs from a family perspective.

Family Development Agenda in the Arab region 2030 The Action Plat form for Families in the Arab Region develops measures and procedures from a family perspective that shall enable, educate and support the family as an integral unit concerned with pushing the path of sustainable Development forward.

This Platform can be regionally or nationally implemented by decision-makers in governments , and could be a useful material for social work for non-government organizations, civil society.

Procedural requirements Economic situation, Disputes, unrest and Wars, Environmental Challenges etc… Challenges Principles that determines the directions of various mechanisms and Stakeholders in their joint work for promoting family welfare. General Guidelines Revision of laws and legislations Build family- centered social policies Support the partnership between various sectors. Procedural requirements How to implement SDGs from a family perspective. Guidance and recommendations Strength capacity of Family national mechanism through suggested steps. Follow-up and monitoring mechanism Support the role of Arab Family Committee in cooperation with National mechanism. Regional Mechanism for coordination Support a family – friendly budget , and financial stimulation policies for a family-centered projects. Funding

Introduced to Arab States Family machineries during the 7th session of Family Committee , it was approved by ministers of Social Affairs LAS got positive responses from all Arab countries, and the observations and comments of the countries were included, then we resent the document in its final version. Working on preparing indicators to follow up on the implementation of the Action platform in Arab region, in cooperation with regional and international stakeholders.
