OUR BELIEF EVERY CHILD HAS SOMETHING TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE WORLD

Our vision Parent engagement is an ongoing process, not a program, that increases active participation, communication and collaboration between parents, schools, and district with the goal of educating the whole child to ensure the highest possible level of student achievement and success.

Family engagement Research demonstrates that parent/ family involvement significantly contributes to improved student outcomes. Everyone -- students, parents, teachers, administrators, and communities -- benefits from family engagement/collaboration

What are the student Benefits? Earn higher grades /test scores enroll in higher-level programs Increased motivation/self-esteem Increased attendance Have better social skills show improved behavior Decreased use of drugs and alcohol adapt Better to school Increased graduation rate Southwest Educational Development Laboratory 2012

Benefits for Parents Family participation in education is twice as predictive of student’s success as family socioeconomic status For more intensive programs the effects – 10 times more predictive Greater knowledge of education programs and how schools work Knowledge of how to be more supportive of children Greater confidence about ways to help children learn More positive view of teachers Greater empowerment
