Summer Learning Program Four Components: Summer Reading Traditional Summer Reading program with prizes of books, school and art supplies, drawstring bags and grand prizes at the end – 56% of registrants completed the program in 2015 Brain Camp Week-long themed camps at the Main Library’s Hueneke Homework Center and at 24 branches along with mini day camps at 16 branch locations – 2015 Brain Camp attendance was up 19% from 2014 Summer Lunch Program Summer Lunch at 14 branch locations – served nearly 15,000 lunches in 2015 Summer Camp Reading Assisted 84 children at 7 branch locations in 2015. Emphasis is on grade level reading with pre and post testing for effectiveness – Final reports show all participants were reading at a higher level than prior to joining the program in 2014. Results for 2015 are currently in the process of being calculated

Educator Card Educators are entitled to a special library card with unique borrowing privileges. Educator Card holders may: Borrow up to 150 items (except videocassettes and DVDs). Items are renewed automatically and there are no fines Request a teacher collection in person, by phone, or online. Schedule pick up at your local library Access to the downloadable feature

Educator Card – Downloadable Feature Easy way for students to download books onto their mobile devices for class use Educators are issued card numbers to distribute to students Card numbers are tied to the Educator account, so educator will have control over the PINs Students have access to all Library databases and downloadable services including those with streaming video content
