10/7 Journal: “2053” Predict what the year 2053 will be like… (technology, society, schools, etc.) How old will you be in 2053? What do you think life will be like for you then?

Notes: The 5 Aspects of Setting Place - geographical location. Where is the action of the story taking place? Time - When is the story taking place? (historical period, time of day, year, etc) Weather conditions - Is it rainy, sunny, stormy, etc? Social conditions - What is the daily life of the characters like? Does the story contain local colour (writing that focuses on the speech, dress, mannerisms, customs, etc. of a particular place)? Mood or atmosphere - What feeling is created at the beginning of the story? Is it bright and cheerful or dark and frightening?

Grab a textbook – Page 57 Read the story. “The Pedestrian” by Ray Bradbury today. When finished, answer the 10 questions on page 63. USE COMPLETE SENTENCES! Turn in to substitute when finished.
