What We’re Learning This Month Letters/Colors S M Red Blue Changes in Dismissal: If you would like your child to go home a different way then they usually do, please send in a note or call the school. Just be aware that no changes can be made after 2:40pm. The office gets busy after that! What We’re Learning This Month Reading: Letters vs. Numbers, how centers will look during reading rotations Spelling/Phonics: We are going to work on a letter a week, the first two are S and M. Writing: We have started weekend drawings and practicing writing our names! Soon the weekend drawings will turn to weekend writings! Math: Counting! Science: Seasonal Changes, Weather Social Studies: Rules and manners Take a Break/Rest Stop Take a break is a place for the student to go in the classroom that is meant to be calming and get them ready to rejoin the class. The teacher can send a child to take a break or the child can choose to go there on their own. This is NOT A PUNISHMENT. This is a break from the flow of the classroom for the child to recompose to come back and make better choices. Rest stop is in another teacher’s classroom and this is a consequence for actions. If a child is reminded several times to do something and they have gone to take a break to recompose and that did not work, the child will be sent to rest stop. If this happens, you will be contacted via dojo or phone. This is a school wide discipline plan so every teacher has a rest stop. If the child continues to do the same behavior, administration will be called and parents will be contacted at that point in time. If you have any questions about this, please contact me via phone, dojo, or email. Lunch Money If you would like to replenish your child’s lunch account, you may register online at www.myschoolbucks.com. Just be aware that it takes 48 hours for the money to show up on the account. You may also set it up to auto replenish when the account gets down to a specified amount. Another option is to send in a check!
