Journals 2016-2017

Journal #1 Write a descriptive paragraph about a new student’s first day at his or her new school. Be sure to use lots of detail and descriptive words. Your paragraph should be at least half a page in length.

Journal #2 Tell the story of something you forgot once and vowed to NEVER forget again. Requirements: Your paragraph must be at least 6 sentences in length. Remember to use correct grammar and spelling.

Journal #3 What piece of furniture in your house has the most interesting story behind it? Write about it.

Journal #4 Write something that begins and ends with the words “When I was younger…”

Journal #5 Compare your family or friends to the days of the week. Who is a Monday? A Friday? A Sunday? Ex: My husband would be a Friday because he’s always very energetic and happy. My cousin would be a Monday because she’s always tired and mopey.

Journal #6 Write about a time that someone refused to listen to some good advice.

Journal #7 Write about what you want to be when you grow up.

Journal #8 Write about some item you find beauty in that many others might not.

Journal #9 If you could magically become any member of your family for just one day, who would you become? Explain your thinking through writing.
