Forms of energy

Write whether it is conduction, convection or radiation

foldable https://melellsworth.wistia.com/medias/47kgj71ufa

Thermal energy (heat) The movement of heat. Examples: conduction, convection, and radiation

Radiant energy (light) Electromagnetic waves we can see.

Sound energy Air vibrations we can hear.

Electrical Energy The movement of electrons. (energy of electrical currents)

Nuclear energy Energy released from splitting atoms.

Chemical energy energy stored in the bonds between atoms examples: the food you break down in your stomach ,batteries, matches

Mechanical Energy of motion. Examples: (potential and kinetic energy) a moving car

QUIZ A drum is an example of ____________ energy. _____________energy is the movement of electrons. Lighting and electricity are examples of energy. ___________energy is electromagnetic energy that travels in waves. My stomach breaking down food is an example of _________ energy.

With you group, come up with the energy transformation that is occurring.

Energy Transformations Energy has the ability to cause change. Energy cannot be created or destroyed it can only be transferred. Examples: A lamp goes from electricity to light. A Solar powered calculator goes from light to electric. A television changes electrical energy into light and sound energy.
