Railways Inland Waterways

North Sea Mediterranean Corridor Second Progress Report 350 projects identified across the six corridor countries and all transport modes 2016:  €2.7bn invested in completed inland waterway projects, railway capacity improvements, ERTMS deployment and investment in port infrastructure and hinterland connections Medium – and long-term: €14bn investment before 2020 and a further €35bn up to 2030 - Seine-Scheldt waterway project to connect French waterways to Belgian and Dutch networks - Waterborne and rail cross-border remain the main focus, but more attention to multimodal Short-term focus on corridor-specific quick wins, such as:                 - Seaport accessibility - ERTMS                    - Development of inland ports and road-rail terminals - Interoperability, innovation and ITS
