Research Track Purpose: to provide a strong background in economics and the necessary tools to conduct state-of-the-art analysis in economics and finance. Emphasis on the recent developments in academic literature. Goal: necessary background to start research related activities (research jobs or PhD) Two specific disciplines, i.e., economics and finance. Students can make an explicit choice between those disciplines, but have to take compulsory courses and one elective course of the other one. Teaching in English

Structure First semester, obligatory courses: fundamental courses in economics and finance Second Semester : elective courses in Economics and Finance Second semester: preparation of the master thesis. This can be the starting point of a PhD thesis and can be used for applications for funding.

Dual Degree Program with Sorbonne The oldest dual degree program from 1999 Study in Sorbonne for one year: Applied Economics (French - Z. P. Kopp) Monnai, finance, Banque (French) APE - A joint program with the Paris School of Economics (English) Education is free (aside from a small registration fee ~ 300 euros a year, and stay, at his/her own expense, in a dorm for 350-450 euros per month) School begins September 2018 Instruction and thesis in English or French.

Scholarships Available Eiffel and the French Embassy For Eiffel scholarship the application deadline is November / December 2017. Receiving scholarships from Eiffel requires a knowledge of some French For Embassy scholarships the application deadline is March 2018 (Both full scholarship and partial scholarship are possible)

How to get into the Dual Degree Program at the Faculty of Economic Sciences? Fill in the dual degree program application form Send scanned documents to Oxana Budjko via email (obudjko@hse.ru): Student’s Application for a dual degree program; Letter of Motivation in English (maximum 3,000 words); Certificate proving knowledge of English (TOEFL IELTS, for Humboldt - GRE) Transcript, which can be in Russian (from the program office); Recommendation (from a professor or program academic supervisor); CV in English; Scanned bachelor diploma (from the program office). The Faculty of Economic Sciences selects and nominates students for the programs: Erasmus and Luxembourg before March 15. Lancaster University select students via the University representative. Students apply to Humboldt on their own. Sorbonne and French scholarship applicants’ documents are submitted via the Faculty of Economic Sciences (however, no pre-selection is done at the Faculty) Partner University confirms candidates and sends offer letters for admission/scholarship selection

While attending the Host University Academic Office Before the trip Learning Agreement (not less than 60 credits per year, a set of disciplines check with the academic supervisor of the program); Written application for study abroad While attending the Host University Send a new learning agreement (if you changed courses). Check changes with the academic supervisor of the program; Report all non-standard situations to the program office; Check mail from the program office in Moscow, follow the information on the website of the academic program. Upon returning to HSE Submit translated transcript; Apply for transfer of the theiss defence to the fall
