5. Penis

Male Vocabulary Urethra- passage from bladder through penis, urine and semen passage- never at same time

3.Urethra

Male Vocabulary Testicle- production site of sperm and hormones (testosterone), located in the scrotum. (testes plural) 100 million sperm produced every 24 hours Testicular cancer risk for men ages 15-35

4. Testicle

Male Vocabulary Scrotum- sack of skin and muscle containing the testes: maintain proper temperature for sperm (93-95 degrees F) Lower than body temp

8. Scrotum

Male Vocabulary Sperm- male sex cell (23 chromosomes), begin developing during puberty

Male Vocabulary Epididymis- sperm mature here, (2-3 months) backside of testis

6. Epididymis

Male Vocabulary Vas Deferens- inner duct that leads to the seminal vesicle from testis, lined with cilia

2. Vas Deferens

Male Vocabulary Seminal Vesicle- produces semen that mixes with sperm, contains sugar(glucose) energy for sperm Semen- fluid which sperm travels in, nourishes sperm

10. Seminal Vesicle

Male Vocabulary Prostate- furnishes lubricating fluid that mixes with sperm, also provides male hormones Cancer risk for men over 40

9. Prostate

Male Vocabulary Cowpers Gland- seminal fluids produced for semen, produces pre-ejaculate fluid used to neutralize acids from urine

7. Cowpersgland

Male Vocabulary Ejaculation- discharge of semen and sperm, usually at the peak of sexual arousal 1,000 sperm expelled, survive in fallopian tubes 6-10 days Glans- head of penis

Male Vocabulary Foreskin- fold of tissue covering penis at birth, may be removed by circumcision Rectum- anal opening.
