Presentation transcript:

He Don’t Know The Inside Feel Hebert R. Adams To report at end of school: This poem is about a boy who likes to fish. He can’t believe that his teacher likes to fish as well. The poet is from Barbados, so the poem is best read in a Caribbean accent.

"He Don't Know the Inside Feel" My teacher fish! You must be screwed up, man. A teacher? Hell A teacher TEACHES. He don't know the outdoor stuff. He don't care. He'd never walk by himself Before breakfast Across fields Gettin his feet soaked Just to fish! He's a teacher. He teaches. "He Don't Know the Inside Feel" He marks papers Or he reads books. He don't fish with no 2-ounce rod And he lay that long line easy on the top Like this here... Look! Oh, man Don't tell me he hears them wild birds. He don't. He don't know the inside feel Of white water rushin Cold against his knees. He don't know fishin, man. Not like me. Hebert R. Adams
