YOUTH ACTIVE PLUS Companionship, support, internships, job projects - short overview - Sieglinde Ritz Lawaetz-Foundation Hamburg November 2017

Basic information Duration of the project : 01.01.2017 – 31.12.2020 Project management: Johann Daniel Lawaetz-Foundation  focus on coordination, administration, etc. Subpartners: 12 partners: community based organisations –  located in all districts  focus on target group Funding: European Social Fund (ESF) (28 %) districts of the City of Hamburg Ministry of Labour, Social and Family Affairs and Integration (9.5 Mio. € in total/ 4 years)

Basic information Target group: NEET´s (age 18 to 25/ parents up to 27) with multiple social problems and no job prospects not reached by the regular system; social benefits are cut Aims to empower vocational and social (re-)integration of the target group to develop new connections between facilities to build up new networks and cooperation structures on local and on regional level (between all districts) to develop strong interfaces to the youth employment agencies

Success factors youth welfare system Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Cooperation /networking on a local and regional level youth welfare system Youth Employment Agency (YEA) The cooperation works in both directions: 1. the social workers accompany the clients who are not registered or who have problems with their requests to the YEA 2. the employees in the YEA (district or jobcenter) - send the clients with various social and vocational problems to the project, too. know-how transfer between districts and facilities 2. Counselling on an individual base and low-threshold access success in reaching and integration the target group 3. Work moduls/ Internship placing the young people into jobs/ practical training to develop social skills such as reliability, teamwork
