Allah is Goodness and the Goodness in Learning from the Example of the Prophet's Night Journey

As the Believers faith increases, so does the inspirations from Allah to him The Prophet told us that our good dreams come from Allah. He also told us that one of the signs of the last hour is that truthfulness will be found only in the dreams of the righteous He was the last prophet sent to mankind and thus there will be no other other revelations from Allah, but this does not mean that a person can not receive inspirations to do good Remember each of us has an angel assigned to our heart, and he is the one who inspires us to do and say what is good. Also our good dreams may serve as inspiration. So thus the believer today can be inspired to do good just as righteous people of the past were so inspired

One such example was his night journey. On the other hand we must also remember that each of us has a Jinn assigned to ourselves as well and he too will inspire us to do things as well. So thus the struggle is determining if our inspirations are good or evil and should we react on them or not And if the inspiration was good then the struggle continues as you try to get others to accept whatever that goodness is. Such was the case of our Prophet. He was only inspired to do what was good yet getting the people to accept and believe him in these matters was what challenging and often times very dissappointing One such example was his night journey.

One night the angel Jabreel came to the Prophet and he was accompanied by the Buraq which is a beast from Paradise They physically took the Prophet to Jeruselem to the sacred mosque and once there the Prophet met all the other Prophet's of Allah and led them all in prayer Afterwards, he climbed upon the back of the Buraq and was taken up through the heavens. Upon reaching the lowest heaven, the Prophet met Prophet Adam, the father of all mankind who greeted him and affirmed his prophehood. It was then that Allah Then Allah showed Adam the souls of those of his descendants who are fortunate (i.e. who will enter Paradise) on his right and those who will be wretched (i.e. who will be in the Hell-fire) on his left.

Then he was taken up to the second heaven wherein he saw John and Jesus. After that, he was taken up to the third heaven and there he saw Joseph. Then he was taken up to the fourth heaven, in which he saw Idris a. After that, he was taken up to the fifth heaven, where he met Aaron (Harem a). Then he went onto the sixth heaven, in which he met Moses who, when the Prophet passed by him cried; and when he was asked why he was crying, he said: "Because the nation of a slave who was sent after me who will enter Paradise are greater in number than those of my nation who will enter it." Of course that slave is the Prophet Muhammad and his nation of people. These words of Moses served as a means of giving hope to our prophet who had just experienced the most trying experience of his Prophethood – rejection from the people of Taif

Then he was taken up to the seventh heaven, where he met Abraham after which he was taken up to SidrahAl-Muntaha and then he was raised up to Al-Bait Al-Maimart It was then that the prophet stood in the presence of Allah: “And was at a distance of two bows' length or (even) nearer. So (Allah) revealed to His slave [Muhammad through Jibrail (Gabriel) whatever He revealed." (Quran 53:9) It was at this time that the prayer was made incumbent upon him and he returned, passing by Moses who asked him: "What were you commanded to do?" He said: "I was commanded to observe fifty prayers (a day)." Moses said: "Your people will not be able to do that. Return to your Lord and ask Him to reduce it for your people." So thus the prayer was reduced to just 5 per day

Many Muslims say that the prophet saw Allah during this meeting but the correct view is that he did not. And that is based on the following: It has been authentically reported on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas: "He saw Him with his heart." - Muslim And it has been authentically reported on the authority of 'A'ishah and Ibn Mas'ud that the words of Allah: "And indeed he (Muhammad) saw him Jibrail (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another then) refer only to Jibreel” (Bukhari and Muslim) And it has been authentically reported on the authority of Abu Dharr that he asked the Prophet A: "Did you see your Lord?" He A replied: "(He is) Light, how could I see him?" (Muslim)

The next day when the Prophet told the people that he had went on this journey – they laughed at him and few believed him Allah aided the prophet but giving him a clear vision of the Mosque in jerusalem so that the prophet could descibe it to the people to convince them that he had been there. But despite this many chose to reject that what he said occurred was the truth. It was his friend Abu Bakr who publicly accepted what the prophet said to be truth.

And such is the case of the Believer even today. We try to convince people of the truths of Allah but people still reject us and ridicule us Worst are the hypocrits. They will challenge and reject us despite the proofs we come with. But we have to remain firm, just as our Prophet did. We have to accept that most of the people we know will be in the hell fire and try to be that one who makes it to paradise. Do not allow the people of disbelief and hypocrisy to pull you down and away from your Lord. Our Prophet serves as an example in not allowing this for.. Even today there are people claiming to be Muslim who actually reject that his journey really occurred and instead chalk it up as a “Dream” Learn from His example and stay firm upon the Reality of Islam!
