1 Allah is Goodness and the Goodness in
Protecting from the Whispers of Shaytaan

2 It is reported in Al Tirmidhi that the Prophet said:
"The appointed angel whispers into the heart of the son of Adam and Satan whispers into his heart; the whispering of the angel is a promise of goodness, an affirmation of the truth, the hope of a goodly reward, while the whispering of Satan is a promise of evil, denial of the truth and despair of goodness... So if you find the whispering of the angel, praise and thank Allah and ask Him to give you from His Bounty; but if you found the whispering of Satan, seek refuge with Allah and ask His Forgiveness."

3 It is from the sunnah of the Prophet to be aware of and seek refuge against the whispers of shaytaan
'Uthman Ibn Abil-'As said to the Prophet: "Oh, Messenger of Allah! Satan intervenes between me and my prayer and my recitation (of the Qur'an) and he confounds me." Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah said: "That is (the doing of) a devil who is known as Khinzab; so when you perceive his effect, seek refuge with Allah from it and spit three times to your left." (Muslim)

4 Many would complain to the Prophet of the bad thoughts that entered their mind. The Prophet taught them to repel the thoughts by saying: "Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great! All praise and thanks be to Allah, Who repels his (Satan's) plot and reduces it to whispering." (Tirmidhi) And he it advised one who is afflicted by thoughts about Allah and how he is created to say: "Allah He is the First (nothing is before Him) and the Last (nothing is after Him), the Most High (nothing is above Him) and the Most Near (nothing is nearer than Him). And He is the AllKnower of every thing." Also for those who suffer with doubt as to whether Allah is truly Allah to say the above as well.

5 This is why the Prophet taught us to be careful asking “why” about everything and instead learn to submit and accept the reality of things. The Prophet said: "The people will keep on asking until one of them says: "This is Allah, Who created the whole of creation; then who created Allah?" So whoever finds any such thing (within himself) should seek refuge with Allah and it will cease." (Bukhari) Shaytaan will do everything in his power to pull you away from accepting and submitting to the commands of Allah. This is why Allah warns us against him by saying: "And if an evil whisper from Shaitan (Satan) tries to turn you away (from doing good), then seek refuge in Allah” (Quran 41:36)

6 Also the Prophet taught us that the evil devils are of two types and we must guard ourselves against both: The first type of devil can be seen by the human eye – and he is the human devil. These are people who stand in the way of Islam and truth The Second type can not be seen by the human eye and is of the Jinn. Allah has commanded His Prophet to suffice himself against the evil of the human devil by avoiding him and by pardoning him and by opposing him with that which is better. Allah has commanded the Prophet and to suffice himself against the evil of the jinn by seeking refuge from them with Allah. Seeking refuge in Allah from the evil of the devils is the best cure for evil

7 It is from the sunnah of the Prophet to safeguard oneself against anger because anger is one of the means of evil provoked by shaytaan The Prophet ordered us to extinquish the fires of anger by performing ablution and by sitting if he was standing and by lying down if he was sitting and by seeking refuge with Allah from Satan. And because anger and desire are two embers of fire in the heart of the son of Adam, he ordered him to extinguish them in the aforementioned manner and to keep in mind the following words of Allah: "Enjoin AI-Birr (piety and righteousness and every act of obedience to Allah) on the people and do not forget (to practise it) yourselves." (Quran 2:44)

8 The Prophet taught that most sins are generated by anger or desire so we have to train ourselves to like the things that Allah likes and hate the things that Allah hates. When the Prophet A saw something that he loved, he would say: "All praise and thanks -be to Allah, by Whose Grace good deeds are accomplished." And if he saw something which he disliked, he would say: "All praise and thanks be to Allah in all circumstances." (Ibn Majah) He would supplicate Allah for those who approached him with something which he loved, so when Ibn 'Abbas placed water for him to perform ablution, he said: "Oh, Allah! Grant him knowledge in the Religion and teach him interpretation." And when Abu Qatadah supported him when he slipped from his riding beast, he said to him: "May Allah protect you by that with which you have protected His Prophet."

9 Making Duaa wishing the best for one another is something the Prophet usd to do from his sunnah all the time and he encouraged it for all He once said: "Whoever had a good deed done for him and said to the doer of the deed: "May Allah reward you with goodness," he has attained the highest level of praise." (Tirmidhi) And he said to the man ('Abdullah Ibn Abi Rabee'ah who lent him money when he repaid it: "May Allah bless you in your family and your wealth; the only reward of a loan is praise and payment.' And if he was given a gift and he accepted it, he would give something even better in return for it.
