WEB BASED CENTRAL LIBRARY CREATED BY APOORVA SINGH MCA VI Sem.

INTRODUCTION The project is specifically designed for Central library of SRI KARAN NARENDRA AGRICULTURE JOBNER. It is used by College librarians and library users. The product will work as a complete user interface for library management process and library usage from ordinary users. WBCL product is basically updating the manual library system into an internet-based application so that the users can know the details of their accounts, availability of books and remaining time for borrowing. WBCL can be used by any existing or new library to manage its books and book borrowing, insertion and monitoring.

OBJECTIVE The main objective of Central library is to enhance the quality of services in the digital environment. The electronic era has impacted lot of changes on the behavior of the user of present day library. Since last two decade there has been enormous change in library and information services and electronic era has helped to facilitate rapid development. Such changes continuous in future too. Libraries required large amount of money on library management systems and on manpower to maintain them. Systems and technical issues are major challenges. The fundamental challenges being integrated and bring the different components of the library together. In this stage the Central library of SKNU has solved such problem without much investment.

FEATURES It is a reliable and all time access for search and manages databases on a simple computer configuration. It provides access to databases through Internet search service, that present sophisticated online searching like auto-indexes, varied record display. Digital Library provides a starting point for all Research. Provide excellent opportunities for a broad range of User to find appropriate research materials all in one place. Digital libraries can be customized so user can have access to what they want and need to use.

WBCL is a replacement for the ordinary library management systems which depend on paper work for recording book and users’ information. WBCL will provide an advanced book search mechanism and will make it easy to borrow, insert and index a book in the library

DATABASE DESIGN Once the input data is captured in the system, these may have to be preserved either for a short or long period. These data will generally be stored in files or databases in logical manner. The designer will have to advise the techniques of sorting and retrieving data from these files. The system uses database, which is described as follows.

LIMITATION -the existing front end design of the website was not user friendly, Pages was not responsive Web tools used for front end design was not according to the market trend. Previous web design was not Eye catching Website was pretty slow while loading on the web server due to old usage of technology (Speed optimization)
