About the company General industries. Manufacturers of Plastic industrial components & Household plastic ware. The bush manufactured by this company is supplied to Oil, Electrical, Electronics, Automobiles, LPG , CNG and Many other Engineering industries.

Short history of plastics 1862 first synthetic plastic 1866 Celluloid 1891 Rayon 1907 Bakelite 1913 Cellophane 1926 PVC 1933 Polyethylene 1938 Teflon 1939 Nylon stockings 1957 Velcro 1967 “The Graduate”

Topic: To identify and review the production process of Plastic Bush for LPG regulators at General Industries.

Identification of Raw Material Identification of necessary raw materials required to produce the product. Nylon 6 Glass Filled required for BUSH.

Benefits of using Nylon 6 1. Light in weight. 2. Good mechanical properties and is extremely tough. 3. Good impact absorbing characteristics. 4. Excellent chemical resistance.

Raw Material Source Nylon 6 Glass Filled material from the GSFC (Gujarat State Fertilizer Corporation Limited). Usually places an order of 500 kilos which come in bags of 25 kg each.

Drying of Raw Material Hopper Dryer to remove the moisture present in the material. If the material is not dried properly the finished product will not be as per required quality standards.

Moulding of Raw Material After the Nylon 6 Glass Filled material is dried in the hopper dryer it is put into an injection moulding machine. Here the material melts and takes the shape of the finished product. Nylon 6 Glass Filled melts at a temperature of about 230 degrees Celsius.

Injection Moulding Machine

Process & machine schematics * * Schematic of thermoplastic Injection molding machine

Plastic Injection Moulding Machine :- Ranges from 30 Tons to 160 tons It has a capacity to mould the items from raw materials like POLYSTYERENE . NYLON -6. NYLON – 66. POLYCARBONATE. POLYETEYLENE.

The Production Process.

The product obtained after the production process is unfinished. It is then finished by help of a blade, which is done manually. There is a supervisor who checks the final product & if any of them are defected then it is been removed out . In 1 minute 4 bush are prepared.

Finishing of bush

Packed in plastic bags containing 500 pieces each. And then the finished products are stored in the finished goods godown.

Finished product i.e bush

The finished product are then transported to godown which is at Saki Naka. The price of a Bush is Rs 6/- per piece. Production is done as per orders which are placed by the distributor or from the local market.

MAINTENANCE Machines are maintained every week Oiling & greasing is done which ever is necessary for the machine.

What kinds of products are made with recycled plastics? Recycled Plastic can be used in making pipes ,detergent containers, carpets, battery casings.

Relation of different department with production process

Materials Department This department is concerned with the raw materials purchase. Where to get from? Quality & quantity. lowest cost.

Purchase Department This department handles the activity of buying the required materials for the company. Low expense.

Finance Department This department handles money matters of the organization. Reducing cost function.

Thank you !!!
