5th Grade Solar System L.O. I will describe what is in our solar system.

Universe has an unknown amount of galaxies and solar systems Our Solar System is part of the Milky Way Galaxy

*Our Solar System has 6 main objects: 1 Sun *8 planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune *Moons – revolve around planets Meteorites Asteroids Comets *(These are listed in order from largest to smallest)

THE SUN averaged sized star *largest body in our system Center of our solar system – all planets orbit around the sun *Mostly composed of (made up of) Hydrogen and Helium

Sun has a powerful gravitation pull *Sun’s gravity is responsible for the orbits of planets around the sun
