Betelgeuse Star By: Tommy Sheppard

Size of Betelgeuse Betelgeuse is 700,000,000 miles in diameter Our sun is 870,000 miles in diameter Betelgeuse is 804.6 times bigger than the sun!!!!

Betelgeuse temperature Betelgeuse’s temperature is 6,000 degrees Fahrenheit on its surface. Our sun’s temperature is 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit on its surface. Our sun is 1.67 times warmer on its surface than Betelgeuse

Betelgeuse color The color of the Betelgeuse star is red. Our sun’s color is yellow

Betelgeuse distance Betelgeuse is 640 light years from our sun This is why it looks so small from outer space

Betelgeuse on the H-R diagram

Betelgeuse on a constellation Orion’s name dates back to Greek mythology. He was killed by a giant scorpion and Orion and the scorpion was raised by the gods into the sky.

Life cycle of Betelgeuse Betelgeuse was born in a nebula and will die in a supernova and become either a black hole or a neutron star. Currently, Betelgeuse is in its super giant stage and will eventually become a supernova.
