GREEN HOUSE GASES & Global warming

WHAT ARE “GREENHOUSE” GASES? A greenhouse gas is a gas in an atmosphere that absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range. This makes the earth warmer. . This process is the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect. The primary greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere are water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone.

WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING? Global Warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth. This is a type of greenhouse effect.

ARE GREENHOUSE GASES & GLOBAL WARMING INTERCONNECTED? The Answer to this question is a big yes. Increase in the amount of greenhouse gases results in increase of the GREENHOUSE EFFECT which is the main reason for Global Warming. Long wave radiations of greenhouse gases are difficult to pass through the atmosphere, which in turn contributes to the warming effect.

CAUSES OF GLOBAL WARMING NATURAL CAUSES GREENHOUSE EFFECT NATURAL CALAMITIES SLOW TILTING OF EARTH’S AXIS. ANTHROPOGENIC CAUSES RESPIRATION MINING ACTIVITIES RAPID INDUSTRIALIZATION INCREASED AUTOMOBILE USE

SOURCES OF GREENHOUSE GASES

EFFECTS OF GREENHOUSE GASES AND GLOBAL WARMING Without greenhouse gases, the average temperature of Earth's surface would be about −18 °C rather than the present average of 15 °C ,which is not suitable for life. Glacier retreat, changes in the timing of seasonal events, changes in agricultural productivity. Changes have been observed in the amount, intensity, frequency, and type of precipitation. Level of sea water has increasing significantly day by day.

REDUCING GLOBAL WARMING (PLAN OF IMPLEMENTATION) PLANT TREES IN YOUR LOCALITY, SCHOOL ,ETC. Planting more trees in our environment will help a lot in reducing the pollution. More Trees would release more Oxygen gas which will help to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide gas and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. If the carbon dioxide gas and other greenhouse gases get reduced in turn green house effect will get reduced. This would result in reduction of Global Warming.
