What the Bible says about “Above all, love each other deeply”

“The end of all things is near “The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:7-8 NIV

The end of all things is near We are in the last days The signs are everywhere – 2 Timothy 3:1-5; 2 Peter 3:1-18 We need to be prepared! – Luke 12:35-46; Matthew 25:1-30

The end of all things is near Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled It takes focus and discipline to always be prepared Prayer is essential to being focused and disciplined!

Above all, love each other deeply Love is our supreme duty as Christians It is the greatest commandment! – Matt. 22:39-40; Rom.13:10 It is the badge of discipleship – John 15:34-35 It is the greatest of all spiritual gifts – 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 It is the greatest of all virtues – Colossians 3:12-14 Above ALL else, Love each other deeply! – 1 Peter 4:8

Above all, love each other deeply Because love covers over a multitude of sins Love doesn’t magnify the sins of others – Matt. 18:15-20 Love gently addresses the sins of others – Galatians 6:1; James 5:19-20 Love is patient with the sins of others – Ephesians 4:2 Love forgives the sins of others – Matthew 6:9-14

“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:9-11 NIV

So that in all things God may be praised All that we do is to be done to the praise of God Whether it’s showing hospitality to others – 1 Peter 4:9 Or using the gifts God has given us to faithfully administer His grace – 1 Peter 4:10 Or speaking the words of God to others – 1 Peter 4:11 Whatever you do, whether in word or deed . . . – Colossians 3:17; 1 Corinthians 10:31

So that in all things God may be praised Love always seeks God’s glory! Let your light shine – Matthew 5:16 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit John 15:8; Colossians 1:10
