7th Grade Math The Angel of Angles

Angle Facts Angles form when two rays meet at a common endpoint. The meeting point of two rays is called the vertex. Angles are named either by one letter assigned to the vertex (∠G) or three letters with the vertex in the center and the other two letters denoting the rays (∠RGH). Angles are measured in units called degrees. G R H (Vertex) (Ray)

Angles are classified by size. Right angles Straight angles Acute angles Obtuse angles

Right Angles Angles that measure exactly 90º

Straight Angle An angle that measures exactly 180º

Acute Angles Angles that measure less than 90º

Obtuse Angles Angles that measure more that 90º
