1 Candy Land Geometry 18.1

2 Plane and Point An endless flat surface
An exact location Points are named by one letter.

3 Line, Line segment, and Ray
A Line Segment is part of a line between two endpoints and all of the points between them. Use both endpoints to name a line segment. A line is a straight path in a plane. It has no endpoints and can be named by any two points on the line. A ray is a straight line with one end point that extends infinitely in the opposite direction.

4 Intersecting and perpendicular lines
Intersecting lines Perpendicular lines Intersecting Lines- Lines that cross at exactly one point. Perpendicular Lines- Lines that intersect to form right angle.

5 Parallel lines Lines in a plane that are always the same distance apart and never intersect.

6 Angles Obtuse angle= >90 but <180 Straight angle= 180
Right angle-= 90 Acute angle=<90

7 ANGLES A vertex is the point where two rays meet to form an angle.
We name angles by the three points on the shape that define the angle, with the middle letter being where the angle actually is (its vertex). A vertex is the point where two rays meet to form an angle.

8 Points, Lines, and Angles
