Jordan is the tallest of all Short Superlatives most Long Jordan is the tallest of all

Ronaldo is the most expensive player est Short Superlatives most Long Ronaldo is the most expensive player

Rules If the word ends in a C-V-C pattern,double the consonant, add [-er + than]   hot = Hotter big = bigger than ** w,x,y,z do NOT follow the C-V-C rule

Rules Happy = happier happiest If the two-syllable adjectives ends with –y, change the y to i and add –er for the comparative form. For the superlative form change the y to i and add –est. Happy = happier happiest

IRREGULAR COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVES These adjectives have completely irregular comparative and superlative forms:   Adjective Comparative Superlative good better best bad worse worst little less least much more most far further / farther furthest / farthest
