Presentation transcript:

*August 30th – EES Fall Pictures Mrs. Woodham’s Class Week of August 28th *Parents: Make sure any money you send for snack money, etc… is labeled and in a Ziploc bag or envelope. *Please make sure your child has a change of clothes in their book bag at all times – I will keep their extra clothes in their book bag, not at school. *When your child is absent please remember to send in a Doctor’s excuse or parent excuse. If not, it will be counted as and unexcused absence. Remember no more than 10 parent notes are accepted and 7 unexcused absences means your child is truant. See Student Code of Conduct, pg. 8 for more detailed information on attendance. Please make sure your child is at school unless they are sick. Thank you for your help with this. *Don’t forget to work each night in the Homework Binder with your child. Just 15 minutes makes a big difference. *Reading – This week we will be learning how to write upper and lowercase Aa and learn what sound the letter Aa makes (a as in apple); Our sight words this week are the words “we,” “one,” and “in.” *Math – we are finishing our chapter on 2 -dimensional shapes. We are learning about circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, and hexagons. *Science – Our learning target this week in Science is: Students can compare and contrast examples of living and non-living things. They can also identify and describe the characteristics of living plant and animals. *Social Studies – Our learning target this week in Social Studies is students can learn about rules at school and other places and learn how to follow them. Students can also learn the Pledge of Allegiance and why the flag is important to our country and us. . *Thank you for the successful 2 weeks we had during our color unit. We had a blast!! *August 30th – EES Fall Pictures *September 1st – School dismisses at 11:30 *September 4th – Labor Day Holiday – No School *September 11th – Community Helpers Day @ EES for Pre-k and Kindergarten *September 12th – Field Trip to the Petting Zoo @ Farm Center in New Brockton
