Screws There are many different types of screws for many different types of jobs. First we need to discuss driver heads. There are three common types, phillips, robertson and flat

Other driver types

Screw types There are many different types of screws to fasten wood together depending on the need for the construction of the project. Wood screws, lag screws and metal screws are just a few that are commonly used.

Wood screws Used to hold wood joints together. Come in many different length and gauges. Can have a pan-head or round head to hold pieces together better. Countersink head to push screw below the wood. Raised for aesthetic purposes

Lag screws Are heavier duty screws to fasten wood. They are usually coated to resist corrosion and add strength.

Metal Screws Used to fasten through metal. Are self-tapping which means they don’t need a hole to be pre-drilled through steel. Used for attaching steel siding to buildings.

Concrete Screws The concrete screw is a special type of screw specifically designed to tap its own threads into a pre-drilled hole in a variety of base materials including concrete, brick and block.
