Relative Location Where a place is in relation to another place Identifies hemispheres Address Uses directional words to describe Cardinal and intermediate directions

Examples of Relative Location Kansas is bordered by Nebraska on the north, Oklahoma on the south, Missouri on the east, and Colorado on the west. My address is 12 Tea Dr., Holly Springs, NC 27540 The Atlantic Ocean forms Maine's east coast. New York is one of the Northeastern States Africa is in all four hemispheres.

Can You Name the Continents and Oceans?

Hemispheres-In which hemisphere does each belong Hemispheres-In which hemisphere does each belong? South America North America Europe Africa Asia Australia Antarctica

Absolute Location Latitude and longitude- Latitude-0 degree-equator; measures north and south Longitude-0 degrees-prime meridian; measures east and west A specific place on the Earth’s surface Uses a grid system A global address

Example of Absolute Location New Jersey 40°4.2'N Latitude 74°33.5'W longitude Morristown, NJ 40°47.52'N Latitude 74° 28.43' W Longitude

Where in the World…. Latitude and Longitude Where in the World….Latitude and Longitude? Where is the cursor located? https://sites.google.com/a/bsdvt.o rg/webquest-five-themes-of- geography/
