Sacrament of Christian Initiation Birth and Growth Confirmation Sacrament of Christian Initiation Birth and Growth

Why do we need to be confirmed if we have been baptized? We were born innocent. But as we got older, we became capable of sinning– and we did. For the most part, we were not capable of understanding our commitment to God or our vocation when we were baptized. We received sanctifying grace, which eliminated our original sin, but we are capable of falling out of God’s grace when we use our free will to sin. Therefore, we are in an almost constant need to renew/receive more grace. Confirmation completes our baptism.

Effects of Confirmation We are sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. We are anointed with chrism, which gives us strength and grace. We move from being followers to leaders in building the Kingdom of God; we are more responsible for our baptismal vows. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are strengthened within us. These help us carry out our mission. Effects of Confirmation

Questions to Consider

We will not always have a PowerPoint of direct instruction for the Sacraments. You need to adopt some sort of system for taking notes from what you read. You also need to actually read the Catechism, and fully read any other materials related to that sacrament that you have from me. NOTE
