DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THERMO-ELECTRIC COOLER IN WATER DISPENSER TEAM MEMBERS: P.ABARNA M.M.MARJANA P.SHEEBA ANNE GUIDED BY: Mr.J.JAYAPRAKASH AP/ICE

ABSTRACT Every industry runs under thermodynamic process in which heating and cooling is made rapidly in all processes. In this project heating and cooling is made possible by peltier effect. Heating and cooling process is achieved by regulating the voltage of the thermoelectric cooler using microcontroller.

EXISTING METHOD

DISADVANTAGES Installation is difficult. Heating and cooling in different module. The dispenser must be dust free otherwise it could possibly become the breeding place of diseases. User cannot change the temperature of the water because the temperature is fixed. Need space to store the bottles.

HARDWARE DESCRIPTION THERMO ELECTRIC COOLER: It works on the principles of peltier effect. LM 35: LM 35 is used as a temperature sensor. PIC 161877a: It control the action of thermoelectric cooler. ULN2803: It is used as a relay driver.

MODEL OF THE SYSTEM

PELTIER EFFECT Peltier effect is a common and most popular effect for heating and cooling. This effect is similar to seeback effect but it works by inverse seeback effect. When voltage or emf is given to the module means, then heating and cooling process is achieved on the either sides of the module.

ADVANTAGES OF THE PROJECT Hot, normal and cold water in a single outlet. They do not require plumbing High efficiency and high accuracy. Highly portable. Installation is easy. User can change the temperature for their purpose.

CONCULSION Thus the overall demand for heating and cooling is reduced by using a single module namely thermoelectric cooler using peltier effect with high efficiency. The controller used in the system is also highly efficient one to control the process.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENT This project meant for heating and cooling, in future this thermoelectric module is simply placed in the wall of the room for the purpose of Air Conditioning. By using the thermoelectric module which works on peltier effect, electricity is also generated from the module with high efficiency.
