Punto #1 de is used to show possession or relationship. Es el carro de Ernesto. It’s Ernest’s car. Son los amigos de la profesora. They’re the teacher’s friends.

Punto #2 de can be used to indicate what type of things you’re describing. los libros de aventuras adventure books las películas de misterio mystery movies

Punto #3 de is used to say where someone is from. Julio es de Costa Rica. Julio is from Costa Rico.

Punto #4 de is followed by el makes the contraction del. de + el = del el escritorio del profesor the teacher’s desk
