University of Missouri Extension in (name of county or region) Insert a picture that represents your county here. University of Missouri Extension in (name of county or region) Use your annual report to identify your county’s five most significant accomplishments for the previous fiscal year and highlight their value to the overall population, not just to the program participants. Keep it short and to the point and make it easy to skim to see the results.) Examples: 1. The Business Development Program helps Missourians start, run and expand businesses, which creates jobs, increases consumer demand, promotes economic development and generates tax revenue. In 2015, we helped: create 64 new jobs, retain 507 jobs, increase sales revenue $10 million, and acquire $23 million in government contracts. 2. The Family Nutrition Education Program teaches youth and adults how to live healthier lives resulting in a healthy labor force, reduced health care costs, public health care benefits and insurance premiums for individuals and taxpayers. In 2015, we helped 8,567 youth and 29,601 adults make healthier food choices, learn how to safely prepare food and increase physical activity. 53 percent of adult program participants exercise for at least 30 minutes a day 68 percent of youth program participants make healthier snack choices Instructions: Click on area where you want to add text. 3. In 2015, 3,539 youth participated in supplemental educational opportunities predominately focused on STEM subjects. One in five youth between the ages of five and 18 participated in the Youth Development Program, where members learn life skills while participating in community service and educational trips. 4. When people learn how to manage family finances they can pay off debt and save money, so they are better able to support community businesses, lower the need for public assistance programs, reduce bankruptcy debt, and be more productive employees. In 2015, 100 hundred Cole County residents in financial stress took positive steps to learning how to make well-informed financial decisions, reduce household expenses and live on a budget through the Financial Management Education Program. 5. Cattle and forage producers need strategies to optimize production while preserving soil health and water quality. By doing this, producers contribute to the state’s economy while ensuring future generations have safe and plentiful natural resources. In 2015, 327 cattle and forage producers with more than 80,000 head of beef cattle spent 800 hours learning production and management strategies.   This is just a sample of the ways MU Extension benefits (county name) County.
