(Early Childhood Services) St. Louis for Kids (School Age Services) United 4 Children (Birth –18) In early 2012, CDCA and St. Louis for Kids-two seasoned organizations with combined expertise of over 50 years and strong ties in the community- merged as “United 4 Children”. United 4 Children services to early childhood/youth serving programs are founded in the deep belief that we can improve outcomes by sharing knowledge, expertise, and skills to the teachers and caregivers involved in the daily work of educating and caring for our children.

3 What Do We Do For Providers
Program Quality Training Technical Assistance Consultation Assessment United 4 Children provides individualized professional development training and resources aimed at strengthening the region’s early childhood and youth development system. Each program participating receives professional coaching, onsite consultation, and training toward reaching identified goals.

4 Supporting Family Child Care
Nutrition Education In Illinois Reimbursement for meals/snacks In Missouri Our nutrition program provides services in 82 Missouri and Illinois counties and in 2011 over 800 home providers received nutrition education and reimbursement through the Child and Adult Care Food Program, to ensure children’s nutritional needs are met. The CACFP: helps children grow healthy and strong helps working families work is an indicator of quality child care can play an important role in obesity prevention by educating child care providers about child nutrition is a key child nutrition training and support program

5 What Do We Do For Families
Supporting Families Referrals Strengthening Families Consultation Inclusion U4C’s Resource and Referral helps families locate and select child care best meeting their unique needs. Families may contact U4C by phone ( ), online or walk-in, and receive customized consumer education materials and referrals to child care programs. All families have their own special circumstances, including parent work or school schedules, the family budget, and what works best for their children. Our Resource and Referral service works in partnership with families to assist them in navigating the array of options and assessing the health, safety and quality indicators in programs that every parent wants in place for their child Specialized referral and support services are available for families whose children have special needs to locate inclusive child care…programs that are dedicated to giving the best early education to ALL children, including children with disabilities or special needs. U4C inclusion consultants work with all child care programs to improve the quality and availability of inclusive places for children, with a special focus on teaching strategies to build social-emotional competencies and reduce challenging behavior in the classroom. The Strengthening Families model identifies the inherent strengths of each family and promotes the necessary, practical tools on effective partnerships with families on protective factors that improve well-being of children. Why is Strengthening Families important? When strong, healthy families can provide for their needs and provide a safe, loving environment for their children, and our community creates opportunities for them to succeed, we all benefit.

Learning Connections Institute Learning Connections Workshops Catalog Trainings Customized Trainings Online Trainings Learning Connections Institutes are day long institutes usually 9:00-3:30pm includes lunch and professionals gain 6 clock hours. These occur the 2nd Saturday in March, September, and December Learning Connections Workshops are monthly workshops offered 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:45-8:45pm Catalog Trainings consist of over 60 trainings developed to address all the core competency areas outlined by the State and can be conducted onsite (updated annually) Customized Trainings are trainings we will create and customize based on request for a specific group Online Trainings are available at specific times of the year and is currently under construction
