UNIFORM STANDARDS FOR NAVY LEAGUE OFFICERS NL 226 DRESS REGULATIONS As with any uniform you may have worn as part of an organization or occupation, the wearing of the Navy League uniform comes with rules and standards which must be followed. (Officer candidates should be provided with handouts of NL 226 Annexes A, B, C and D) UNIFORM STANDARDS FOR NAVY LEAGUE OFFICERS

TYPES OF DRESS SERVICE DRESS ALTERNATIVES WORK DRESS CAP JACKET SHIRT PANTS SHOES RANK SKIRT SUMMER BOMBER JACKET BURBURY OVERCOAT GLOVES SWEATER TOQUE SHIRT TROUSERS BOOTS BERET BALL CAPS Unlike the Canadian Forces, which have a variety of uniform styles and designations depending on the activity the officer is participating in, Navy League officers do not follow these standards. The Navy League has a base Service Dress with alternatives, a Summer Dress standard and a work dress. There is no numbering associated with these types of dress and they should only be addressed by the names seen here to avoid any confusion with new officers. Service dress – Notable remarks Caps – both male and female officers will be issued forge caps instead of differing headwear as of February 2017. Complete phase out by June 2020. Jacket – worn for inspections and formal parades with full medals Shoes – should always be worn with full service dress and summer alternative. Boots okay with sweater alternate and work dress. Ranks on tunics to be sewn as per handout NL 226 Annex A Skirts – not mandatory but can be ordered on request Bomber (Canex) Jacket – individual purchase, only worn with summer or sweater alternative. Burbury overcoat – individual purchase, worn with service dress Gloves must be of black leather style Toque may only be worn when travelling to and from events in cold weather. Work Dress Shirt – Blue type similar in looks to cadet shirts Pants – black cargo style Ball caps may be worn in place of berets, but by corps all of one or the other. Not a combination.
