1 Uniform Standards Sep 17, 2017

2 Overview AFJROTC cadets wear the same basic uniform as Active Duty personnel All cadets should wear the uniform properly with honor and pride AFJROTC cadets will follow uniform standards published in AFI , Dress and Appearance of Air Force Personnel, AFJROTCI , Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps; and the AFJROTC Operational Supplement Cadets are responsible for maintaining all uniform items in a clean and orderly condition

3 Restrictions Cadets may not wear the uniform while hitchhiking, in student demonstrations, for crowd control, political events, or for any other inappropriate activity Military personnel are prohibited from publicly supporting a particular candidate, party, or political issue while in uniform or when it is clear to others that they are members of the US military Public perception regarding the allegiance of military members to the Commander in Chief is critical As private citizens, military members are encouraged to vote and participate in our democratic process as long as they are not in uniform and do not identify themselves as military members Cadets should also follow this standard while in uniform

4 Restrictions Do not wear the uniform with other clothing
Do not allow articles such as wallets, pencils, pens, etc protrude or be visible while in uniform Do not wear earphones or headphones while in uniform Do not carry cell phones, unless required

5 Standard Cadet Uniform
Dark blue service coat and trousers Light blue long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirt Dark blue tie (males) or tie tab (females) Blue elastic belt with silver (chrome) tip/buckle Blue flight cap White undershirt Black socks Black leather oxford shoes

6 Rank Insignia

7 Badges/Insignia/Pins

8 Shoulder Cords/Ropes Cadets are authorized to wear one shoulder cord on the left shoulder of the light blue shirt or service dress coat Colors denote different honors or leadership positions within the Corps

14 Male Accouterments Belt
Blue with a silver (chrome finish) tip and buckle Silver tip of the belt will extend beyond the buckle facing the wearer’s left No blue fabric will be visible between silver tip and buckle

15 Male Accouterments Tie Must be worn with the service dress uniform
Tip of the tie must cover a portion of the belt buckle, but cannot extend below the bottom of the belt buckle

16 Male Accouterments Undershirt Socks
A white, V-neck, athletic tank top or crew-neck style undershirt must be worn with the long-sleeve blue shirt Socks Plain black socks (no design) will be worn with the cadet uniform Plain white socks may be worn under the black socks as long as the white socks are not visible

19 Female Accouterments Belt Tie Tab
