US Department of Labor (www.bls.gov) Over 1,200 job listings that include the following information: Nature of work – Description of typical job duties, tasks, work environment, and hours Training, other qualifications, and advancement – Licenses, degrees, certifications, and knowledge required for employment and advancement. Employment – Typical job venues, such as a hair salon or a garage Job outlook – The predicted demand for workers in a particular job Projections data – Predicted growth of the particular job Earnings – Salary/ wage potential OES Data – Occupational Employment Statistics – national, state, and local earnings data Related Occupations – Jobs/careers that utilize transferable skills

O*NET OnLine (http://oneline.onetcenter.org) Allows user to define search according to key words, skill areas, technology interests, and high demand jobs.

Career Categories Careers are divided into four broad categories to make searching for jobs and job descriptions easier. Working with People – involves working to benefit people or society. Careers include: teaching, doctor, coaching, law enforcement, social worker, etc. Working with Data – involves working with information and numbers. Careers include: accounting, researching, computer programming, etc.
